McIlwain signed for Hinckley in May 2008. He was persuaded to switch from A5 rivals
Nuneatin Borough, after their financial troubles in the summer of 2008. He had played for
the Boro for one season, having previously been with Kettering Town since 2003. He
started his career at Rothwell Town as a striker in 2000, was then converted to a
defender and moved to Kettering with then Poppies manager Nicky Platnauer, who of
course is now assisstant manager at Hinckley.
Released June 2009 and signed for Brackley Town. |
