Platnauer, originally was a Hinckley United player in our first ever season, then
returned to the club in October 2007 as Assitant Manager. His role was changed to
1st team coach in August 2010. Nicky began his career
with Bedford Town before joining Bristol Rovers in August 1982. He moved to Coventry
City, then Birmingham City, and onto Cardiff City in September 1986. He transfered
to Notts County in August 1989 and played at Wembley as County won promotion to
Division Two via the play-offs. His career continued at Leicester City, Scunthorpe
United, Mansfield Town and Lincoln City. He joined Dean Thomas as coach at Bedworth
United, and followed DT to Hinckley United in 1997. His managerial career started
in 2000 at Rothwell Town in 2000 and remained there until October 2003, when he became
caretaker manager of Kettering Town. He took over as manager of Bedford Town in
January 2004 was successfull in guiding Bedford to promotion from the Southern League
Premier Division to the Conference South via the play-offs. However, Bedford struggled
the following season and Platnauer resigned in January 2007.
