Neil progressed to the 1st team through the reserves and the youth side, making
the step up back in 1999. His
father, Les, is a former Welsh international footballer who plied his trade with
Coventry City and Wrexham. Neil looks best on the right in midfield, but is not
out of place as a wingback or in a back four. Recently has been moved into midfield
from defence and is excelling in the role. A fans favourite because he tends to
run his heart out all game and won the Supporters Player of the Season 2006-07.
He won a Dr Martens Western Division Championship Medal with Hinckley United in
2000/01 and became the clubs leading appearance holder in April 2007, confirming
his magnificent contribution to the club in the last 8 years.
A double fracture of his right leg means Neil will be out until season 2008/2009
at the earliest. Because of his injury he also saw the clubs record appearance
title taken away by Jamie Lenton. |
