  NEIL CARTWRIGHT Midfield
DOB: 06/82 Wrexham
Appearances 320  Goals 21
Last update - 6th May 2008
Neil progressed to the 1st team through the reserves and the youth side, making the step up back in 1999. His father, Les, is a former Welsh international footballer who plied his trade with Coventry City and Wrexham. Neil looks best on the right in midfield, but is not out of place as a wingback or in a back four. Recently has been moved into midfield from defence and is excelling in the role. A fans favourite because he tends to run his heart out all game and won the Supporters Player of the Season 2006-07. He won a Dr Martens Western Division Championship Medal with Hinckley United in 2000/01 and became the clubs leading appearance holder in April 2007, confirming his magnificent contribution to the club in the last 8 years.

A double fracture of his right leg means Neil will be out until season 2008/2009 at the earliest. Because of his injury he also saw the clubs record appearance title taken away by Jamie Lenton.

Personal File:
Neil is married to a Yew tree and has 2 saplings. He drives a Little Tykes bumper buggy and works as a ferret farmer in the dairy department of Safeway Morrissons. He has a small gaggle of ferrets which he milks regularly for use in those little pots of milk in the canteen. He says his hobbies include live twig photography and browsing around specialist 'extreme survivalist' shops.
