He had left Hinckley United in June 2010 for Corby Town, but 6 months later found himself on the sidelines at Corby and returned to Hinckley. Gooding originally signed for Hinckley United in July 2008, after being released by Rushden & Diamonds. He started in the Academy at Coventry City before becoming a first year professional at the club.
