Richard signed for Hinckley United for his third time in October 2011 after he was
released by Nuneatin Town. He originally joined Hinckley from Tamworth at the start
of season 2000/01, where he had an excellent year winning a Southern League Western
Division Championship medal with Hinckley United. He left Hinckley to join Nuneaton
Borough in July 2001 before moving to full time football with Telford United in 2002.
Richard re-signed for Hinckley United in June 2004, after he was left without a
club following the financial demise of Telford United. He ammassed nearly 300 appearances
for Hinckley making himself a firm fans favourite at the club popular on and off the pitch.
In July 2010 Lavery moved on to Corby Town, and then Nuneatin Town in March 2011. |

Richard grew up on a US Air base in the Nevada Desert, but can't remember large
parts of his childhood. Before he became a footballer Richard worked as a
scientist in a top secret US Army laboratory researching the effects of gamma
radiation on biological cells. He was hounded out of his job by US Army officials
after another laboratory accident exposed him to a huge dose of gamma rays, the
effects of which are not yet known, but whatever you do, don't make him angry... |
