Away Fans Information Page |
|
This page is intended to give the away fans an idea for what to do on matchdays
before or after the game. Being as there's not much left in our town anymore it's mostly
alchohol related, but then that's what your after really. |

The Leisure Centre |
This is an all sports venue situated on Coventry Road. It has 2 swimming pools,
squash courts, an indoor sports hall and a fitness suite with a sauna area. Inside there is
also a bar and cafe. If that's not enough, it is directly across the road from 2 pubs, the
Sportsmans and the Prince of Wales.

The Concordia Theatre |
As not all Football fans are alchoholics there is a theatre in the Town. The Concordia
Theatre has been converted from an old factory and boasts it's own restaurant and function
room. Here is a link to it's own website.

Battle of Bosworth Field |
To the north of Hinckley is the Bosworth Field, here on August 22nd 1485 the
last King of England to die in battle was slain. The rebel traitor Henry Tudor
defeated Richard III by act of treachery at the Bosworth Field and was then
crowned King Henry VII. Today on the site is a Battlefield Centre and a walk
around the Battlefield itself can be taken with a tour guide explaining the
battle events.
Also for Steam Train enthusiasts there is the Battlefield Line Railway, which is
a small steam railway. Part of the old Ashby to Nuneaton railway line has been
restored and trips can be taken from Shenton Station at the Bosworth Field to
Shakerstone Station some 5 miles away.
There are websites for both organisations:

Where to Eat |
|
Hinckley has it's fair share of fast food outlets. In and around the Market place there
are a Subway, a Kentucky Fried Chicken, an English Cafe, 2 Chip Shops, a Kebab Shop
and 2 Take Away Pizza Shops. As well as most of the Pub/Diners serving food. |
|
If you're coming to the ground by car or bus, on the A5 Watling Street between the M69
roundabout and the Dodwells Bridge roundabout there is The Hinckley Knight Pub, which
sells food all day, and right next to it is The Three Pots, which is a Harvester Pub.
Also along the A5 is The Limekilns Pub, on the banks of the Ashby Canal, that sells food.
From the Dodwells roundabout along the A47 Normandy Way at the 3rd Roundabout is the
Hinckley Milestone, this is a Bank's Pub and Restaurant. |
Most of the Town Center Restaurants and Take-Aways are on the Rough Guide map,
so click the link to find the one you want.

The Pub Guide |
Hinckley is full of pubs. If there's nothing else to do round here, at least
you can always drink! Most of the pubs are Marstons Brewery, and the prices
are pretty much the same. Approx £2.80 for a pint, £2.70 for a bottle (yes rip
off, I know!). If your coming by train or just turning up early to sample the
Town, then the Rough Guide Map has all the Town Center Pubs marked on it. Just
click on the pubs marked on the Rough Guide Map to open a pop up window with
the details for that pub. At the moment the pub's section is being updated so
there is only minimal information for pubs, but will expand soon, trust me.
